Factory Girl news:

In an interview with Empire, Star Wars' Hayden Christensen revealed some key casting for the forthcoming Edie Sedgewick biopic Factory Girl. Guy Pearce will join Sienna Miller's Edie and play Andy Warhol, Christiansen will play a role based on Bob Dylan and Jimmy Fallon will also feature...

And that's not all... When I spoke to Pearce on Wednesday night at the LFF gala for The Proposition, he was reluctant to talk about this as it wasn't 100% confirmed, but his future co-star, the beautiful Meredith Ostrom was more than happy to fill us in on a few details. "I'm playing Nico in Factory Girl, who was, briefly, the frontgirl for The Velvet Underground. I'm so excited about it. She did just one album with them, until she went off and did her solo album. She had quite an unusual voice. We start in December, we're shooting at Shreveport, Louisiana for the interiors. The exteriors are in New York." [ed. note: the film was originally going to be shot in New Orleans starting in November.]

From the New York Daily News (October 19th):
..JIMMY FALLON is getting all dramatic, we hear. The "Saturday Night Live" star is in talks to co-star opposite Sienna Miller in "Factory Girl," about tragic Andy Warhol star Edie Sedgwick. Fallon would play Sedgwick's buddy Chuck Wein. Also in the cast: Hayden Christiansen as Sedgwick's rock-star lover and Guy Pearce as Warhol. Co-producer Richard Golub says shooting starts in Shreveport, La., on Nov. 28.

DD toon of the week - new site here.

From yesterday's Times, about the premiere of The Constant Gardener at the Times BFI London Film Festival:

Stephen Woolley, the director of Stoned, introduces me to a middle-aged Romantic called Nick Rhodes, a plump chap with bleached highlights and little to say. They are an odd couple. One of them looks like a member of Duran Duran, the other looks like Ozzy Osbourne.

If you've read Feel (the Robbie Williams authorized bio) by Chris Heath, did you catch the Nick mention? (Thanks to TDGD)

[Robbie Williams is in the attic/studio with Stephen Duffy, working on Robbie's [recently released] album.]
"So if we go into the chorus, I'll play the guitar and you fiddle around until you find something," Stephen suggests.
"I admire your belief, Stephen," says Rob.
"I've worked with Nick Rhodes." he retorts. "I know how it's done."

There are 2 additional mentions of Simon in the book as well.

From Saturday's Daily Telegraph:

Eighties' icons Duran Duran burst back on to the music scene in 2003 after 18 years in the pop wilderness. And having had a top three hit in the album chart last year, their comeback now appears to be complete. They have secured the ultimate gig: playing at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony in Oslo in December.

Spy overheard band members Simon Le Bon and Nick Rhodes discussing it at a recent charity dinner at Origin restaurant in the Covent Garden club the Hospital.

"They've just finished a two-year world tour, so this is the icing on the cake," says my mole in cone-shaped trousers.
