From DD.com,
the band's working on the tracks for the album, doing mixes,
and deciding which offer from which label to take. Some new
band pics should also be coming out soon as well.

It's
a slow news day - so for your reading pleasure, here are a
few odd Duran mentions:
"Most of these folks fell off Maryland's political radar
about the same time Duran Duran fell off the billboard
charts." On Maryland's race for the governor's seat.
(Washington
Post)
"If the Red Hot Chili Peppers beat up Duran Duran in a
back alley behind CGBGs in New York..." On
Halifax's Pop Explosion. (Halifax
Daily News)
"...one shopper actually sported her own skimpy homage to
Duran Duran..." On retro concert t-shirts.
(Cox
News)
"...I was excited to find someone else who would admit to
owning a Duran Duran album..." On guilty pleasures.
(Daily
Trojan online)
Dream come true for Arab star Lamya. (Gulf
Daily News)
"Duran Duran, I like all their songs, especially Rio,
although obviously I can't sing that too loudly around the
training ground now." What they said. (Sydney
Morning Herald)
"In the 1980s, with bands like OMD, Duran Duran and
Spandau Ballet, we thought of ourselves as artists." On
songwriting. (The
Guardian)

For
those trying to access Dear
Saint Nick or
any ezboard,
please note that the ezboard servers are currently down for
upgrades and they hope to have them available this evening
at 8 p.m. PDT.
A few miscellaneous tidbits from various news outlets:
3am: SURVEILLANCE from 26 Sept's The Mirror
reports spotting "...a portly Nick Rhodes at Cipriani
restaurant in New York...
3am also says about the Saint after he and Meredith
attend the private screening of John Malkovich's Hideous
Man back in August: "...Also there in a suit that was at
least two sizes too big for him was Duran Duran's Nick
Rhodes and his girlfriend Meredith. We don't know
who's dressing thepair, but they seriously need to get some
fashion advice before they venture out again..."
From the Independent on Sunday, 14 July, a review of
Dark Circles: "Coyly packaged in the anonymous
artwork of an obscure indie band, Dark Circles is actually
the work of Nick Rhodes, Duran Duran's coolest
member, and Stephen `Tin Tin' Duffy, their original singer.
Duffy quit in April 1979 to make intermittently great solo
records, Simon Le Bon joined, and the rest is pop history.
Twenty-three years later, Tin Tin's discovery of an early
gig tape in an old desk, and a chance meeting with Rhodes at
a fashion show, inspired this reunion project. In the
interests of "establishing closure", Rhodes and Tin Tin have
reworked 11 previously unreleased Duran tracks, and written
one new one. Its vocabulary is of- its-time (can you imagine
a more New Romantic songtitle than "Hawks Do Not Share"?),
its concerns parochial, but the sound is enjoyably moody new
wave, reminiscent of Psychedelic Furs, Talking Heads and
Kraftwerk. For completists, and wealthy dabblers." (Simon
Price)
