Well, they didn't perform, but they got the award instead! Congratulations
to Nick, Roger, Andy, Simon, & John on receiving MTV's Lifetime

Some pics will be posted next week from the show. In the meantime,

From last Friday's Mirror:
| Duran
Duran are back with a vengeance and are hoping to bring their
world tour to Ireland. But before we get our hands on Simon Le
Bon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor, Andy Taylor and Roger Taylor they
will perform live in New York for the first time in 18years on
August 27. |
Check out the Saintly

A very happy, belated birthday to Tatjana!
She turned 17 on Saturday.
After Boston, the band heads to Washington, DC to perform at the 15th
annual HFStival
at RFK
Stadium on October 4th. Tickets went on sale Saturday morning
through Ticketmaster. For those going, consider parking at one of
the outlying metro
stations and riding in - like in any metro area, the traffic
can be horrendous! (Thanks, Rita!)
Duran are also looking to play a date or two in Florida
in November - nothing is confirmed yet, though.
The Girls Aloud cover version of Girls on Film is now available
to download from Duran
Duran Italy. (Thanks, Giorgio!)

BREAKING NEWS: It might be too late, but if you're in the NY
area, catch Nick on WPLJ
95.5 at 5 pm EST! (Too late - there's already a review of
his short chat over at the DD.com
forums.)
Ticket pre-sale for the show at "The Ritz" (see the
news from 14 August) starts tomorrow, Wednesday the 20th, at 10 am
EST from Ticketmaster.
And since it's already been announced at DD.com,
I'll post it here: the password for the pre-sale is "brummies."
Ticket price is $45 and it's a 2 ticket limit per person. Rumor is,
it's a show primarily for the label execs (kind of like the show at
the Roxy), so there may not be many tickets available to the general
public. The rest of the tickets, if there are any left, will be made
available to the general public on Thursday through Ticketmaster.
Rex has a new photo of Nick from this weekend's Mercedes Benz Polo
Challenge at the Bridgehampton Polo Club -but for the larger version
visit DDFCiM.
Turns out, he was also stuck
in NYC's blackout.
