Sweet 16 and all grown up! Happy Birthday to Tatjana Rhodes. Scribble your birthday wishes for her on the boards, and view her as a youngster.

Devils news: Stephen's site reports that the single, "Come Alive", will be re-mixed and released later in September. For more Stephen Duffy news you can also visit here. (Thanks, Manon!) And a new Nick/Stephen/Devils fan page can be seen here.

From the
obscurityvacation mailing list posted by Manon, a review of Dark Circles in this month's Classic Rock magazine:

"From the second Stephen "Duff-Duff" Tinny bumped into his old synth 'n hairspray mucker Nick "Duran" Rhodes, the long history of rock side-projects and special collaborations was destined to reach a new nadir of pointlessness. Using primitive beatboxes from the first time around, as well as that unmistakable shitty 1979 Duran synth wash and "Love Action" backing singers, they set out to prove they could've made it 20 years ago on their own artsy techno terms. They couldn't. This sucks. For anyone who followed Duffy through his great Lilac time moments and more recent solo highs, this album is a bizarre and egomaniacal insult. ** out of 5. Derek Hammond."

minDDilation has the Future Music interview with Nick here.

TTP has
photos from the 2 exhibits at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum that feature some of Duran Duran memorabilia.

As most of you may know by now, a Devil's gig is rumored to be happening in January 2003 - the clue being "big store." As soon as we know something further, we'll let you know.

Nick just finished producing the next Dandy Warhols album in London. And he writes on Ask Katy that TV Mania may see the light of day next year.

And the clue is: "Big Store." (Thanks, saintlyone!)

From the 3AM section of the Daily Mirror yesterday: DURAN Duran's Nick Rhodes knows how to show his girlfriend, Meredith, a good time. He told 3am: "I took Meredith to Italy. It was OK. But I don't like going abroad because I've travelled the world. Next time we'll stay at home and do nothing. It's more fun." Er, no it isn't.. (Thanks to Liz!)

Stolen shamelessly from the LK boards - this day in history.

Another review of Dark Circles can be found
here, and if you'd like to practise your Dutch, you can read one here. Manon's got the translation on obscurityvacation.

A Temple EXCLUSIVE: Julie Anne Rhodes was kind enough to write to us to correct some information, and she agreed to let us tell you what she's been up to:

I have purposely led a very low key life since moving back to LA. I loved my life in London, but all good things have to come to an end. I guess you could say I finally grew up, and my values changed dramatically.

I bought a house here, and renovated it myself mostly. My girlfriends had quite the giggle when they would point out the fact that no one in London would believe what they were seeing...me covered in plaster, paint, and scraping off old wallpaper. But I loved every second of it, and appreciate my home so much more than I ever have before. It is totally my masterpiece, and friends have a hard time prying me out of it.

Tatjana does a good job though! I fly to London for all of her half-terms (mini school breaks), and she comes to LA on her longer holidays. We should own half the airline by now with all the flying back and forth! Tatjana is by far and away the best "production" either Nick or I have (or will ever) produce. I am so proud of the young woman she has become, and she truly is my favorite person on the planet! She just spent two weeks on holiday in Italy with Nick and Meredith, and she had a great time . Now we are visiting my family for 10 days at their lake house, checking out Las Vegas for her SIXTEENTH birthday, and hanging out at home in LA for the rest of the summer.

Last time she was home we went to see Maddy's photographic exhibition which is brilliant! Maddy came for dinner at our house not long after, and we had great fun giggling over old times. She spends a lot of time in LA, so it is nice to see her often.

As for me, I worked on a few films when I first moved back to LA, but decided I didn't really enjoy the business anymore. Now I am embarking on a new adventure. I am about to open a Personal Chef Service, and am very excited about owning my own business! I have always loved to cook, and love the idea of bringing busy families back around the dinner table again. It makes me happy to think that in my own small way I can actually help make other people's lives a little better.

Harumi sent in a photo of her and Nick from the 1987 tour in Japan - check it out in the Saintly Women
photo album (scroll down a bit).
