For those waiting to hear some TV Mania played live, Warren announced today that his new band Bang Gang will perform music from all his projects in LA and possibly elsewhere - but no dates announced yet.

Upcoming magazine mentions:
Duran Duran's Second Coming 09:02 PM: When D Squared's original members reunited for their first U.S. show in 18 years, it was at the same tiny, sweaty club where they debuted here 25 years ago. Duran Duran lead singer Simon LeBon, keyboardist Nick Rhodes, and the Taylors (guitarist Andy, drummer Roger, and bassist John) jammed at Hollywood's Roxy, and found some things never change. "The dressing room still smells the same," remarks LeBon, above with Rhodes and John Taylor. Expect a new album in fall 2004, though the 500 Roxy fans were perfectly satisfied to gyrate '80s-style to oldies like "Rio." (Written and Reported by Mandi Bierly, Tim Carvell, Carina Chocano, Amy Feitelberg, Raymond Fiore, Gillian Flynn, Nicholas Fonsec, Duran Duran's Second Coming 09:02 PM. , Entertainment Weekly, 08-01-2003, pp 36.)

That's So '80s Duran Duran? Flock of Seagulls? Fine Young Cannibals? The Human League? Twenty years after slathering rock 'n' roll in mousse 'n' makeup, some '80s acts regroup (and almost none regret): With billowing shirts and military duds, "we were on the leading edge of fashion," says singer Simon LeBon, 44. "Miami Vice took its look from us." Crockett and Tubbs are gone, but the original lineup behind made-for-MTV hits such as "Hungry Like the Wolf" has reunited for the first time in 18 years to tour and record a new album. "We all needed to assert our independence," says bassist John Taylor, 43, wed to Juicy Couture cofounder Gela Nash-Taylor. While drummer Roger Taylor, 43, retired to a farm with his family and guitarist Andy Taylor, 42, made solo albums, keyboardist Nick Rhodes, 41, kept the band going with LeBon, who has three daughters with his model-wife, Yasmin. LeBon predicts longevity: "We've all got our own hair!" (People, 08-04-2003, pp 116.) The rest of this article is on Dear Saint Nick.

As posted over at LK: I'm working on a new show for VH1 called "My Obsession" and we're looking for people with fascinating fascinations such as being an over-the-top Duranie. If you know of someone through your hard work on your website (somebody who's obsessed, colorful and would have a lot of stories as to how their love of Duran2 has affected their lives in good ways and bad ways) who might be good would you please, please, please email me at Cais27@aol.com. Caissie St.Onge. (Temple note: if you'd like to share your story with other Duranies, we've got a perfect new spot for it: INFLUENCE.)

Do you recognize yourself? Gary at deepvisual took some pics from the concerts.

Duran Duran Italy is back with a new site: www.duranitaly.com. (Thanks, Giorgio!)

I found some more pics of Nick at the Roxy - they're over at Dear Saint Nick for now. Pics from backstage at the Hard Rock on the 19th are also on Dear Saint Nick. The Tour2003 pages are also updated....

18 July

Duran played the Hard Rock last night, and Wire Image did not see fit to give us any good shots of Nick. I've got 2 of the shots here.

Today's funny: The untold story of why Nick broke up with Tara (from the Insider):

Poor old Nick Rhodes seems to be having as much luck in love as a pissed up Baboon in a field of celibate sparrows. This week he split with 'IT' girl Tara Palmer Tomkinson. Friends said there were a lot of tears and 'smudged eye liner'. (As for Tara, she seems to be bearing up rather well.)

Apparently, the split happened after Tara misheard Nick at the breakfast table.

Nick Rhodes : "I'm having the lot! The full works! Eggs and beans and chips. I'm off. Forget the gravy!"

What Tara thought she heard Nick say was : "I'm having the chop. The full works. I've got the eggs, but no beans. Look at my hips. I'm a faggot and I'm off to join the navy!"

Did you catch the Saint on Access Hollywood or Extra yesterday? You can watch a video clip of the band on Extra as well as a summary of the clip. (Thanks, Anna!)

There are a ton of articles and pix over at LK and minDDilation from last night's concert at the Pacific Amphitheatre.

A side note: anyone here read/write Swedish? I need help translating a letter. Please email me at Catherine@templeofsaintnick.com. Thanks!

Thanks to Kristy and Penelope (and a few other places), I've got pics of Nick at LAX and last night's show at the Roxy. Some of the Roxy pics are duplicated on Dear Saint Nick.

Over at Creativeman's site, some pics from the July 11th concert.

minDDilation has some links to articles and pictures, as does LK and the DD.com message boards.

As posted by lebonrhodes on Dear Saint Nick, Getty Images has pics of Duran arriving at LAX yesterday. (If anyone can send us the larger versions of Nick, we'd be grateful!) She also posted the pics from Yahoo.

From today's Scoop by Jeannette Walls: "Old groups never die, they just start touring in Japan. More than 8,000 tickets for a concert by '80s hotties Duran Duran sold out in 30 minutes in the Land of the Rising Sun. . . ."

11 July

The transcript from the Kevin and Bean show on KROQ 106.7 (LA) is over at LK. They announced the show at the Roxy and mentioned that there's a 2 ticket/person limit.

9 July

BREAKING NEWS: Nick and Simon will be calling in to the Kevin and Bean show on KROQ 106.7 (LA) at around 8 a.m. PST TODAY! The show is not broadcast on the web so LA Nickolites, tune in!

Also - a new concert date: July 15th (next Tuesday!) at the Roxy in LA. Tix are $25 and go on sale next Monday at noon at the Roxy box office. It's an all age venue.

A new area of the Temple: INFLUENCE. This is long overdue!

The Nick pics on the email login page have been updated.

Devils news: an event was planned at a big CD store in Japan to promote the release of Dark Circles but according to Harumi (who was kind enough to get the info from the Sho-Net webmaster) the event has been cancelled. The webmaster also made those red and blue t-shirts that you see on that page. And he said the concert in Fukuoka was much better than the Osaka concert.

As posted on DD.com today, the GREATEST DVD will be released in September. It's a 2 disc set, includes alternate videos, EPKs, a NIck/Simon audio only interview from 1999, and photo gallery.

8 July

Another picture from the press conference, also found on the Tokyo page. A new page has been started to capture pics from the other Japanese concerts - like the one from Osaka. (Thanks, Harumi!)

News on TV Mania: Warren has released What's in the Future in the download area of his site. CucFan explains it all on LK.

DD.com
has a summary of the press conference, as well as pics and the news that today's show at the Zepp went well.

The Devils in Japan: what the Dark Circles CD looks like over there. According to Cecile on Obscurity Vacation, it was released on 2 July with a bonus track: Come Alive (Tiga Swears Lies remix). Nick will be doing some promo work for the Devils while over there. The forthcoming Devils DVD is still in the works, deepvisual reports that some Simon Colley may be involved with some of the filming while in Japan or LA.

7 July

New pics of Nick and the guys in Tokyo are here - and one of them is also the Pic of the Week. More pics from the press conference are at the creativeman site. Another blurb on the press conference is at MSNBC (just a recap from the Reuters article). (Thanks, Harumi!)

Duran Duran Italy has an mp3 of the interview from Tokyo FM, as well as the set list from the Osaka concert. (Thanks, Giorgio!)

Metropolis has a blurb on the Japan concerts, and a picture from the press conference is at Japan Today.

3 July

I'm keeping a hold of the Jesus suit *myself* this time: more pics of Duran in Firenze, Italy here.

Harumi sent in instructions on how to access the live webcam in the Tokyo FM studio for the "Cosmo Pops Best 10" show tomorrow. But note: the webcam only provides pictures, no sound. Go to http://www.tfm.co.jp/spain/, click on the red VIEWTFM button at the left, and you should see a button that says JAVA - for Windows users, you should click on that. If you've enabled JAVA on your computer, you should be able to see the pictures. If you wish to download the program (called Web View/Livescope from Canon), there are 2 ways you can do this: go directly to Canon's support site for Livescope at http://www.canon.com/wvw/index.html, choose English, and follow the links on downloading and how to use it. OR, if you prefer to download the program directly from the studio site (and in Japanese), go to the studio page at http://www.tfm.co.jp/spain/, click on the red VIEWTFM button at the left, and click on the Web View/Livescope button at the bottom of the page. Click on the link for the type of computer you're using it on - PC, Mac, Windows CE, or Pocket PC. Then click on the big red button - for most it'll be in the middle of the page. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the long grey button - you'll be asked where you want to save the file "wvh33.exe", etc. Once it's downloaded, find the wvh33.exe file and install it. If you have any problems, the Canon site has a FAQ that can help.

Harumi also says that Duran held a press conference at the Four Seasons Hotel in Tokyo earlier today. Reuters has a short story about it here. (courtesy of GlassX2 at LK) The first picture of the group in Japan is over at LK. (courtesy of mazola UK)

1 July

NEWS FLASH: Duran (and we assume Nick, too!) will be on Tokyo FM's "Cosmo Pops Best 10" on July 5th from 2 - 2:55 pm Japan time (1 am July 5th on the East Coast, 10 pm July 4th on the West Coast). The show is webcast live at http://www.tfm.co.jp/spain/. (Thanks, Harumi!)
