The fifth anniversary bumper issue of the Friends of Mine Duranzine is now available for purchase. Friends of Mine is one of the last few remaining Duran fanzines in regular production; supporting the band and its fans in the unique way that fanzines do. This is the biggest ever issue, with highlights including a comprehensive roundup on the Brit Awards, and a feature on the 2 BBC radio shows on Duran DD that the kind folks at Friends of Mine made last month. Nick's got street cred! (Thanks to ScoobySnackin at LK and Manon)

DURAN Duran star Nick Rhodes has finally been bestowed with street cred by his daughter, according to the keyboard player's actress girlfriend Meredith Ostrom. The reason for Rhodes's elevation in the eyes of his child, we can reveal, is due to Duran Duran's forthcoming collaboration with the funkier Justin Timberlake on their new album.

Justin memorably presented the Outstanding Achievement Award to the older rockers at this year's Brit Awards and the idea of teaming up was mooted there.

"They're hoping to meet up with Justin soon, " reveals actress Meredith, 24.

"When Nick's daughter heard she was over the moon. She's totally in love with Justin and has renewed respect for her dad because of his connections."

Rolling Stone says that Duran have signed a record deal with Capitol, but there's no confirmation yet from the band.

Live Aid will be released on DVD soon.
