I encountered
Nick in New Jersey ....

| Cute Nick story...I was backstage at the
afterparty, and talking with the Saint when a weird boy came up. He tapped Mr.
Rhodes on the shoudler and says "Can I get a picture of you with my camera?" all
nervous like. Now, Nick looks at this awful contraption this boy is calling a camera
and says (insert cool Nick accent) "What the hell is that thing?" To which the
boy said "It is a homemade camera that will put Star Wars characters in the picture
with us when it gets developed." Nick, ever the photog, looks intriguied.
He says "Who?" and the kid says "I want to put in Jar-Jar
Binks". Nick says to me "One second, I have to get my picture taken with
some sort of creature" (imagine accent!) and cracks a smile. |

So he takes the picture, and comes back to finish the convo with me (he is sooooo
sweet)! Nothing real meaty from the convo, just chit chat and the fact that
he didn't want to release the album until after the millennium to avoid the stigma of
being a gimmick. He is really funny and interesting, I could have talked to
him all night! |
