I did it!!! I finally
met them. My trip was a bummer because didn't get
a chance to find them. But when I got back to St.
Louis I went to their hotel on my own. I was afraid
they wouldn't be there because someone told me they
weren't staying there but boy were they wrong. I
walk in and the first person I see is Wes. I casually
follow him so I don't lose him and then I get a
pic. I was so excited at that point that I had the
right place I couldn't stop shaking. Which was quite
embarrassing because he put his arm around me when
we took the pic. He's so much shorter that I thought
but he was sweet. He asked if I was going to the
show and I said definitely and told him how many
I had already been too. He thankfully thought that
was cool and not crazy:-)
Then I leave and wait in the
lobby for Nick. But twenty minutes later I see Warren
walk by. As he was walking through I was staring
at him. He stared at me for awhile and then kept
walking. I wanted to keep my eye on him but I couldn't
find my postcard. Luckily I found it as he turned
to walk my way. I slightly waved it at him and quietly
asked for an autograph. He said sure. As I walked
over he asked me if I knew when the sushi bar opened
and I said no. He asked me my name and when I told
him how to spell it he said, "I love it" and smiled.
I said thanks and he went on his way.
I waited another half hour then
I had to go to class. I was bummed that I didn't
get Nick or Simon. Only if I knew what I was in
store for. I came back after class and my friend
Anita told me I just missed Nick but he was walking
to dinner with Joe and two other guys and he would
be back. So I nearly got in a car accident trying
to park and I wait in front of the hotel for two
hours in 85 degree heat. I later find out that the
two other guys were Dave, the tour manager and the
guy who is taping their documentary. Joe came back
first and he knew Anita and was talking to her.
I talked to him for a bit a gave him a little white
Teddy Bear which he thought was cute. He liked my
silver nail polish and he was wearing a pretty turquiose
color. I told him how he could find me in the audience
which was by looking for a zebra striped cowboy
hat. He says he'll look for us but he had to go
because he had an appointment.
Then Anita sits next to me and
says, "Nick is walking this way." I said, "You're
kidding me." She says, "No, I'm not. He's coming
with the two other guys they left with." Believe
it or not I was surprisingly calm after I got over
my initial urge to hyperventilate. I mean this beautiful
man is just casually walking down the street looking
fabulous with the sun shining on him and a big smile
on his face. And he's walking in my direction!!
I mean people have dreams about things like this
happening. Well, when I see him I wave and he waves
back like who is this girl but then sees I want
his autograph. He says hello and then signs his
name on his postcard, then I have him sign the Interview
magazine article he did with Trey Parker. He looks
at it and purses his lips saying,"This was much
funnier when we were doing it. I was so disappointed
with the way it turned out." So he takes it from
me and I'm thinking he's just going to sign it but
he holds on to it and starts reading it. As he's
doing this I realize I almost forgot to give him
the gift I had for him and I rush over to get it
out of my bag. It was a little white bracelet. He
takes it and studies it and asks me about the stones.
He says, "Are they coral?" I say I have no idea
what they are and then he says, "They must be alien
teeth.:-)" Then I go for a pic. First I take one
of Anita and him then Dave, their tour manager,
takes one of Nick and I. He's about to take when
it he says the light is bad and we should turn around.
Nick agrees and then briefly goes on about the hazards
of bad lighting. He's always the photographer. Then
he goes to leave and thanks me for the gift. After
he leaves I look at my magazine to see what he was
doing and he went through and made corrections on
the article. It was too funny:-) I forgot to mention
while Anita and I were waiting for Nick and Joe,
Warren kept coming out of his hotel room with fewer
and fewer clothes on. I'm not kidding. First he
had on a shirt and sweat pants, then he just had
on sweat pants, then he just had on underwear. It
was a very nice way to pass the time.
That was my first encounter....more
to come soon.
