I encountered
Nick in Toronto, Canada ....
|
They were having a autograph/photograph session
with fans for the release of the 'Thank You' album. I stood in the cold for 3 hours (after
begging my boss to take the afternoon off to see them). I had a painting I did of Nick in
my arms. A couple of fans asked me what I had and told them what it was and they were
quite impressed with it [thanks :o)- what an ego boost]. An announcement was made
indicating that the band will NOT be signing or taking photos as time did not permit them
to as they had to do an interview at Muchmusic in about 20 mins. Then almost giving up any
hope that I would be able to see them, let alone get a glimpse of them (especially Nick).
The security guards rushed us through the tent and I had taken the packaging off the
painting to show Nick and the guys and asked if he could sign it and (of course) Nick
obliged. John and Warren shook my hand and said "great job!" and I could tell
Nick was flattered too, as was I.
After he signed it, I was rushed off and all of a sudden I was outside [again :(]. After
that experience, I felt this euphoric feeling, like I couldn't believe what just happened.
I waited YEARS for that and felt content right afterwards - it was weird. I thought,
hmmmm, I feel fulfilled now - LOL. I then decided to go and watch the interview at the
station on the monitors but not for long 'cos it was VERY cold!!! I thought you guys are
great, but my health is much more important so decided to go home and brag about what just
happened to my friends and family (who cared to hear about it anyway) - hahaha. I jumped
into my warm car and was off, so I thought, I got stuck in traffic. Looked to my side
trying to entertain myself while I waited in traffic and before I knew it - it was the van
from Muchmusic with the band in it!!!!! Since I lived close to the airport I was able to
follow them through traffic, as the driver of the van was a little aggressive and made a
"path!" for me too - :o)
I was happy to meet Nick and I remain content. Thanks, Nick, for making the time for
me...... |
