Who Is She? - by Mark Bucciarelli When did she arrive? Where is she from? Sun drenched piazza in the early morn she strolls through the arcades for all those to adorn The educator, breadman, and poet see it in her light blue eyes her compassion for others under sunny Tuscan skies The Florentine artists all vied for her pose and one was rewarded - so red the rose She greets a young boy with a delicate kiss and a flower her smile so bright it chases away any chance April showers Inside the Renaissance master sighs as he renders her angelic face a sense of rapture that defines time and space The subjects heavenly form and stature is captured by the painters brush only to be witnessed centuries later by masses in an assembled hush |
