RUSS MITCHELL, co-anchor: They are legends of the MTV generation. Duran duran has been turning out hit after hit since their self-titled debut album back in 1980. They reached Beatlemania heights of fame with pop rock classics like "Rio," "Hungry Like A Wolf," "Union Of The Snake," "The Reflex," "Ordinary World," "No--Notorious." And they're here with their 16th album released this week, "Pop Trash," that has critics saying, 'The boys are back.' Welcome Duran duran to The Second Cup Cafe. Hi, guys. How are you?

Mr. SIMON LeBON: Hello, Russ.

MITCHELL: Good to see you. Hi, Mitch? How are you? Hi, Warren.

WARREN: Thanks a lot.

MITCHELL: Good to see you. The two original members of the group here, Simon LeBon and Nick Rhodes.

Mr. LEBON: Yeah, that's us.

MITCHELL: That's you. In the '80s, you had millions of teen-age girls screaming, following you everywhere. It seems like you still have millions of teen-age girls following you everywhere. To what do you owe this longevity?

Mr. LeBON: Well, we love music. We love being a band. We love each other. It's a great laugh. It's a great excuse to not to have to grow up, really, you know. And--and we write pretty good songs.

MITCHELL: Yeah. I think they write pretty good songs. Do you? Let me borrow that from you for a second, the mic. What are you going to do for us today, Nick?

Mr. NICK RHODES: Well, we're going to start with our new single, actually, which is a song called "Someone Else Not Me."

MITCHELL: And tell me about this song.

Mr. RHODES: Well, it's a fairly intimate, simple song with a--with a lyric that I think people can relate to. It's very heartfelt. And Simon wrote it about something that--that happened to him.

MITCHELL: Yeah.

Mr. RHODES: You'll have to check it out. Have a listen.

MITCHELL: We'll check it out. Ladies and gentlemen, Duran duran.

Mr. LeBON: Thank you.

MITCHELL: Simon LeBon, Nick Rhodes, Warren Cuccurullo. Thanks again.

Mr. LeBON: Thank you.

MITCHELL: We really do appreciate it. Wonderful. It is time now for some of you to join your local stations. For everyone else, we'll be right back with more music from Duran duran so don't go away.

MITCHELL: Welcome back. Russ Mitchell along with Duran duran. Want to show you guys something. Hey, your fans are quite rowdy. Look at this. Look at this. Can you get a shot of this right here? She has a picture of herself and you, Simon. Where was that taken?

Mr. LeBON: Oh, I don't know, but that's what we call a blackmail T-shirt.

MITCHELL: I was going to say. Where was that taken? You want to...

Unidentified Woman: In Chicago.

MITCHELL: In Chicago. OK, we'll leave it at that, eh?

Mr. LeBON: Exactly.

MITCHELL: All right. What--what are you going to do for us now?

Mr. LeBON: Going to play another song off "Pop Trash." This is "Lava Lamp."

MITCHELL: Ladies and gentlemen, one more time, Duran duran.
