player Nick Rhodes, with his Duran Duran bandmates, is currently three months
into a comeback world tour. Meanwhile, his girlfriend, Meredith Ostrom,
is making her own bid for fame. Only 23, Ostrom has landed a part in a remake
of 1960s flick Alfie, alongside matinee idol Jude Law. "I met Jude for the first time the other day and he was very friendly, " Ostrom told me at the launch of Yves Saint Laurent's boutique. " I'm not worried he'll want his wicked way with me: there are too many gorgeous women on set, like Sienna Miller and Susan Sarandon." Ostrom's CV lists just one film to date, a part as Elf No 2 in the 2001 film R Xmas. But her career now seems to be taking off. "I'm also going to work on a movie called Red Giants, about the man behind Sputnik. It takes so long to get past the small, pretty roles, but I'm getting there." |
