Duran Duran
have had 13 top 10 Hits, two no 1s, seven top 10 albums- and a combined weeks - on
-chart total (singles and albums) of over 10 years. And no, they never split
up, although there have been various changes over the years. In fact, original
members Simon Le Bon and Nick Rhodes, along with guitarist Warren Cuccurullo are still
going strong, still making records and have just embarked on their latest UK tour.
Duran Duran... Remember them? Well actually, they're still around. Last
month they released a Greatest Hits Album and video - And they are currently touring
the UK. In January, they release a new single "Electric Barbarella'' - and a
new album will follow in the Spring.
We caught up with Nick Rhodes during the rehearsals for the tour, and
he told us how things were going....
Nick Rhodes says they're all very excited about the UK tour.
''We've never done A Greatest Hits Show in all these years....It should be
fun, particulary at this time of year - December- people are ready to have a good time.''
And he says the audiences are always great here. ''We always have a good
tour in the UK - I think we've managed to keep a very loyal following.''
As well as performing the Greatest Hits on the tour, Nick Rhodes says there will be a few
surprises too.
''We'll play a few of our favourite songs, a few album tracks, some really early songs, a
B- side we've completely rearranged, and a few new tracks. ''
Watch out for part
