Ross Rites

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the George L. Gay Funeral Home for Melvin Ross, 58, or rural North Liberty. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetary in Coralville. Mr. Ross died Saturday at his home, following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Ross was born July 12, 1914 in Monroe. He was the son of Zell and Nora Tool Ross.

He married Jennie Graham on Jan. 15, 1938 at Dubuque.

Mr. Ross was a lifetime resident of the Iowa City area and did landscaping work. He was a member of the Coralville Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife of North Liberty; two sons, Earl of Iowa City; and William of North Liberty; three daughters, Mrs. David (Barbara) Butterbaugh of Washington, Mrs. John (Marjorie) Glick of Danvers, Ill., and Julie of North Liberty; seven grandchildren; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Zell Ross of Cedar Rapids, a brother Loyd of Ormond Beach, Fla., and two sisters, Mrs. Fred (Mildred) Cochran of North Liberty , and Mrs. Beulah Fountain of Iowa City.

A daughter preceded him in death.
