Obituary of Beulah Ross Fountain

Beulah Marie Ross Fountain, age 79, of 605 Greenwood Drive, died Monday, July 31, 2000, at Greenwood Manor in Iowa City after a long illness with Parkinson's disease.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the George L. Gay Funeral Home and Crematorium in Iowa City, with the Rev. Alvin Jingst officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetary in Coralville.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until service time Saturday at the George L. Gay Funeral Home and Crematorium. Memorials may be given to Parkinson's research or Greenwood Manor of Iowa City.

Mrs. Fountain was born Jan. 29, 1921, in Frederick, S.D., to Zell and Nora (Tool) Ross. She attended Clear Creek Township and Coralville schools and received a GED from Daytona Beah Junior College in Daytona Beach, Fla. She married Harold Fountain. She worked in the kitchen at University Hospitals and was a member of the Coralville United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a brother, Lloyd, and his wife, Catherine Ross, of Hobe Sound, Fla.; two special cousins, Dr. Mabel Ross of Newton, Penn., and Grace Anderson of Fort Smith, Ark.; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Jennie Ross of Iowa City; along with many nieces and nephews.

Her parents, her husband, an infant sister, a sister, Mildred Cochran, and a brother, Melvin Ross, died earlier.
